Mtandao Afrika is pleased to start a series of success stories written by the participants of Mtandao

Added to the success of the national competition, SchoolNet Nigeria,
again, sponsored us to attend the Mtandao Afrika youth camp in Cairo,
Egypt. The youth camp wasn’t a jamboree. It encompassed lectures,
tourism, competition and above all, interacting in one cause and
interest. It was a big school on its own. I learned so many new things
ranging from computer programs to collaboration and social networking.
And that was the most interesting part of it all. There were students
from all over Africa, and their coaches, representing various important
topics and ideas, unraveling hidden information on health issues,
environmental ....

- About Mtandao Afrika !!
Mtandao Afrika (MAf) Internet Challenge is a website development contest for African youth in the age of 12-19.
The contest is focusing on the creation of educational web sites with African content and promotes the use of
African local languages. The contest also envisions raising cultural awareness of the participants by encouraging
them to form diverse teams from the entire continent. The participants are offered the unique chance of crossing
geographical and cultural barriers to get together and form teams where they acquire life time skills of project
and time management, ICT skills and research skills while working on entries. To learn more about this exceptional

their accumulated experience either by working further on their previous entries or
creating new fabulous entries based on their wealth of experience and knowledge through
their previous participation in MAf. New comers to the contest should draw on their
