Under the auspices of H.E. The First
Lady of Egypt and in the presence of H.E. Minister of Communication and
Information Technology and representatives of the government, private sector
and the civil society, the MAf youth camp and awards ceremony was held in
Cairo, Egypt September 2004. The youth camp was attended by over 50
participants from 11 African countries as well as 150 learners from Egypt.
Participants attended a number of technical and soft skills courses sponsored
by Microsoft and its educational partner VirgiTech.
The final stage of judging was conducted by a panel of international judges to
determine the Platinum, Gold and Silver winners. Judging took place in the form
of an interview to the learners of winning teams.
The awards event was held in a festivity where the youth received their awards.
This year a number of special awards were distributed in recognition of
outstanding efforts, the "Coach of the Year", "Female Achiever", "Champion of
the Year" were three special awards sponsored by the program sponsors.
