- Mtandao Afrika : Youth Camp 3:

Cairo, Egypt witnessed an outstanding celebration of the 3rd annual Youth Camp and Awards Ceremony that was held during 2-6 March under the Auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and in support of the Ministry of Education in Egypt. SchoolNet Africa in partnership with Microsoft's UP Program and AGENT Consulting, the regional implementation partner has managed to take the MAf to new realms.

The Youth Camp was attended by 64 students and teachers from 12 African Countries. The youth camp that lasted a week witnessed a number of cultural, educational and entertainment events. The participants received intensive ICT and Software training coupled with great hands on and role playing experience. The training was provided by South West Educational Laboratory SEDL, a renounced training and educational laboratory based in the US.

The Awards night celebrated the winners in an exquisite atmosphere with the attendance of Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology and the Egyptian Minister of Education who awarded a number of the winning categories. The event was attended by 11 African Ambassadors headed by the Dean of African Ambassadors in Egypt in addition to dignitaries for the UN community, civil society and private sector, mainly represented by the program partner and supporter Microsoft, where regional and national VIPs attended and honored several winning categories as well as recognizing selected entries.
